Clinical Analysis of Intra-articular Fracture of the Calcaneus

Abstract
|
|
|
Calcaneal fractures are divided into the extra and intra-articular fractures. The treatment of intra-articular fractures is very difficult and their results are not satisfactory because of complex three dimensional structure of calcaneus.
Computed
tomography clearly defines fracture patterns of subtalar joint and calcaneocuboidal joint. From June, 1990 to Dec., 1991. We classified intra-articular calcaneal fracture by using computed tomography routinely and treated for the purpose of
improvement
of prognosis. So we reviewed the results of them with presentation of several cases.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1. Of 21 patients. 16 patients were male and 5 were female.
2. The most common cause of injury was fall down.
3. Joint depression type intra-articular fracture was more common than tongue type.
4. CT is benefit to perform diagnosis and treatment.
5. In treatment method, open reduction and internal fixation based on CT was 13 cases.
